Christine Karczewski, LMP, RN, Psychiatric ARNP
Long before knowing I would join the health care field, I became interested in herbal medicine, massage and meditation. As a young woman, I lived in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. I found an uplifting beauty and mystical feeling there which led me to explore the mind and body connection as ONE. I became smitten with the proclamation of Hippocrates, the “father” of modern medicine... who taught that massage promotes the body’s balance of fluids, and supports the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Thus, becoming a Massage Therapist was my first step into the intuitive, creative and meditative work that I currently enjoy. Later I entered into pre-med coursework and studied Physiology. I was awestruck and blissed out when learning of the everyday miracles taking place in our bodies. I then encountered many opportunities in my own health to consciously direct my body towards healing. I have avoided surgery, reduced and even eliminated physical pain, softened difficult emotions, shifted my mind and found new ways of being within myself and with others. I began to share these and other learned ways with others in need, and this is how I want to live my life.
I have been blessed to acquire a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Masters in Nursing. I continue to practice, refer and appreciate Western Medicine while learning and practicing complimentary healing ways through mind, body, spirit and relational communication and connection. I believe that western and more traditional approaches are a more effective pathway to healing when utilized together. Every visit is unique and a pathway of sensing, learning and moving along the path of transformation and healing, whether coming for emotional, mental, physical, spiritual or relational confusions/conflicts/challenges.
